Welcome Back to Your docLocker (BETA)

Here's a preview of what your document locker. As we work through our BETA, the form will change over time.

This is Corpral Lance's docLocker. He's headed for a few months sailing on the Red Sea. He's got to make sure everything is taken care of while he's away. So he's set up his team and uploaded some key documents.

Let's take a look...

Teammates

Name Email Role Assign
Kinky "Battlebuddy" Finklestein best@buddy.com Gatekeeper Change Doc Assignments
Major "CO" Ironside dbartholomew@army.mil Gatekeeper Change Doc Assignments
Troopers Mama mom@home.com Recipient Change Doc Assignments
Troopers Baby Momma sapphire@conshyballet.com Unassigned Change Doc Assignments

The first two are shown as "Gatekeepers". That means Cpl. Lance trusts them and has given them power to unlock documents he has stored. If something happens, they know what to do.

Cpl Lance has something his mom needs to see, if she needs to see it. If his CO or battle buddy decide to make that happen, she'll be a recipient, and will get access to download the document.

Cpl Lance has a special friend. But it's complicated. So mom is going to get the important docs for now. She's on the team, but unassigned for now.

Recipients have docs they can view or will view when unlocked.

Gatekeepers can unlock one or more documents. These are trusted people because, once granted the power to unlock, they can do it when they think it is appropriate.

Unassigned users can't unlock and aren't listed to receive a document but can be assigned a role

Now let's move on to the trooper's documents...

Documents

Document Type Name Status Upload Update
Will MyWill.doc Uploaded & Locked
POA POA.doc Uploaded & Locked
Living Will Living Will.doc Uploaded Update
Orders Upload

Looks like Cpl Lance has been paying attention. He's got his will and power of attorney uploaded and locked. That means he's ready if something unfortunate has happened. Why get ahead of yourself - nobody needs to see the will unless they need to. Power of attorney is a big deal, why give it out and risk mistakes being made?

His living will is uploaded too, but he hasn't decided who should be gatekeeper or receipient or if he wants to update it, so it's update eligible.

Finally, there's orders. But he's not sure if he can upload those so that slot is empty until he hears back from JAG.

This table will have a mix of predefined and slots for custom assets. Each asset has its own lifecycle. The user uploads the latest copy of the document, then assigns recipients to receive them and gatekeepers to unlock when needed. Each document can be assigned to specific people. For example, your living will and power of attorney could be received by one person, and your will received by another person or persons. Similarly, one or more gatekeepers can be assigned to each document.

Status meanings

Uploaded & Locked - the asset has been uploaded and no changes can be made (e.g. wills when deployed)

Uploaded - the asset has been uploaded but a new recipient/gatekeeper assignments can be done. The update button is there to update new versions of the document

No status - the asset has not been uploaded. The upload button is there to load the first versions of the document
